  • 9 Gala or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter (cold)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Core each apple, leaving enough flesh at the bottom.
  2. In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Stir in 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. Add diced apple pieces from coring and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, oats, remaining sugars, and cinnamon. Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  5. Fill each apple with the warm filling and top generously with crumble.
  6. Place on a lined baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes until tender and golden.
