  • 4 cups French bread
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup cream
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Prepare the apple filling by cooking chopped apples with brown sugar, lemon juice, spices, and cornstarch in a saucepan over medium heat until softened.
  2. In a large bowl, cut French bread into cubes and add the egg mixture made from whisking together eggs, milk, cream, light brown sugar, vanilla extract, and spices.
  3. Allow the bread to soak in the egg mixture for at least 15 minutes to absorb all the flavors.
  4. Combine melted butter, maple syrup, and chopped pecans for the topping.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin pan with parchment paper. Fill each cavity with soaked bread before adding apple filling and topping with pecan mixture.
