  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/3 cup hot pepper jelly
  • Fresh thyme leaves or chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  2. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese until combined.
  3. Add flour, salt, and optional garlic powder; mix until a dough forms.
  4. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Roll chilled dough into 1-inch balls and place on the baking sheet.
  7. Press your thumb into each ball to create indents.
  8. Fill each indent with about half a teaspoon of hot pepper jelly.
  9. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.
