  • 2 cups warm water
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 6 tbsp brown butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Combine warm water and sugar in a bowl; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until foamy (10-15 minutes).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt; add the yeast mixture and olive oil to form sticky dough.
  3. Cover and refrigerate overnight (minimum of 12 hours).
  4. Grease a baking pan; pour melted butter in center.
  5. Deflate the risen dough gently and place it into the prepared pan; cover and let rise in a warm spot for 1.5 – 2 hours.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F; make brown butter by cooking unsalted butter until golden; mix with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Dimple the dough deeply with wet fingers; drizzle cinnamon mixture over it.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden; cool slightly before transferring to a rack.
  9. Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk before serving.
