Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup cold butter (cut into pieces)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and prepare a donut pan with non-stick spray.
  2. For the crumb topping, mix granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add cold butter pieces and work with fingers until coarse. Chill while making the batter.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine wet ingredients: egg, sour cream, melted butter, and brown sugar. Gently fold wet into dry until just combined.
  4. Fill the donut pan about two-thirds full with batter and sprinkle the crumb topping generously over each donut.
  5. Bake for about 10-11 minutes until lightly springy when pressed. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
