  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, dried herbs, mozzarella, and Parmesan to the yeast mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough gently and shape it into a loaf or place in a greased bread pan. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
