  • 400g lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 100g crustless bread
  • 125ml white grape juice
  • 100g minced onion
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups hot water or stock
  • 810 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, soaked crustless bread, minced onion, garlic, cumin, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper until just combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small meatballs (about golf ball size) and place them on a parchment-lined tray.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the meatballs until golden brown on all sides; remove from skillet.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and whisk in flour until bubbly; gradually add hot water or stock while stirring until smooth. Stir in lemon juice along with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for about five minutes to soak up flavors.
