  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp heavy cream
  • Pinch of fine sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 pan and line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix sliced apples with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and spices.
  3. In a large bowl, combine melted butter with flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until blended.
  4. Press about two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan as the crust base. Spoon the apple filling evenly on top.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved crust mixture over the apples.
  6. Bake for 38-45 minutes until golden brown.
