- 12 oz canned chickpeas (drained)
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 green onions, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (or other neutral oil, for frying)
- 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh dill, minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp sea salt
- Drain and dry the chickpeas; mash them in a large bowl until coarse.
- Mix in cumin, pepper, salt, green onions, garlic, flour, and egg until well combined.
- Heat grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Shape about three tablespoons of mixture into patties and fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides (3–4 minutes each).
- Combine yogurt sauce ingredients in a bowl while patties cool slightly.
- Serve warm with yogurt sauce on the side.
